Students not as satisfied with their modes of teaching

The pandemic has had a significant impact on student satisfaction in terms of the quality of their course, with the latest survey showing that 75% of students declared that they were satisfied, compared to 83% the prior year. The main gripes were in relation to accessing IT, library and other resources and facilities but HEIs scored better on the quality of course provision, including whether they found the course stimulating and interesting.

The survey this year also asked some pandemic specific questions. Scoring reasonably well were those around communications and accessing course materials but very low scores were achieved for protecting the mental wellbeing of students and for the mode of delivery of teaching, being either blended on line/in person tuition or completely on line.
